When you’re caught in-between still hot weather & the beginning of autumn, it can be hard to pick practical/comfy outfits that also look like “fall.” But transitioning from Summer to Fall outfits is easy with effective layering! I’ve outlined some ideas in this blog post😍
Look #1:
A cardigan with a fun tank + jean shorts!
A cardigan & jean shorts combo is an easy (AND CUTE!!) way to move into fall. Even if it’s still a little warm out, you won’t be too hot. The cardigan can even just be thrown on when it gets dark out or when you enter a building with the AC turned up. This one is from Madewell & there are a few sizes left HERE!
I like to pair my cardigans with a fun tank underneath – like this red leopard print here. from Target! Less than $20!
You can still wear cute slides during the beginning of autumn. I don’t know why, but I have a slight obsession with two strap slide sandals… I have at least four pairs in different colors. I got this Steve Madden pair for only $24 at Marshall’s!! I found them Online (but a bit more expensive) as well.
Here’s another similar pair that’s on clearance! They will last you forever & come in multiple colors.
Look #2:
Jeans with a comfy tee + jean jacket
There is just something so aesthetically pleasing about pairing a jean jacket with black denim. I like to tie my jacket (from Madewell) around my waist if it gets too hot. That way, I’m comfortable but I still have that pop of blue color.
Here’s a denim jacket from H&M that won’t break the bank. It’s oversized (love) & a light wash.
Clearly, a chambray would also do the job & is even better for layering if it’s burning up outside. I love this one from Forever21. So classic & simple!
Don’t forget a cute layering tee! This one is less than $15. I honestly can’t stop buying camo & leopard🤷🏽♀️
Alright, guys – I hope you enjoyed reading this short little post! I CANNOT WAIT FOR FALL🍂
Hi, everyone! I am so excited to share this post with you all – today I will be showing you all a tour of my apartment, which I just moved into over the weekend. I live in a one-bedroom with my cat, Opal (who is photobombing at least two of these pictures haha) & my boyfriend since he has been interning nearby this summer. As a law student, my budget isn’t HUGE by any means, but I do love decorating & making my personal spaces inviting & fun! I’d describe my style as minimalistic & modern, but I also like to throw in some pops of pink & gold.
I will be linking as many items as I can! Most are from Target (no surprise there), but many are from T.J.Maxx & I may not be able to link them.
Living Room
My living room area is my favorite space in my new apartment. The round mirror & key holder with the honey comb design were both picked up from T.J.Maxx. I could not find either of them online, but I picked up the key holder just days ago, so it could be in store still (and I saw several in stock while I was there).
I’m employing this white bookshelf from Target as my TV stand. I love decorating the shelves with books, small decor, & frames, but it is also useful for holding electronic consoles. The gold urchin that I have sitting in there (came as a set of three) is one of the most versatile decor pieces I have ever purchased. I used two of them on the wall in my bedroom! I switch up their spots constantly. Lastly, that gold & white drum/side table is from Target. It is a few years old, but they have similar ones online. I’m using it & a fake plant from T.J.Maxx to hide some ugly cords!
My gray (almost blue-ish) throw is from T.J.Maxx. It is cozy & washes well! I’ve already thrown it in the wash a few times. The two abstract square design pillows are both from Target. The striped one was gifted to me from my mother & came in a comforter set from T.J.Maxx, so I couldn’t link it.
My couch (which comes apart for easier moving) was also a hand-me-down from my mother. I love the way it looks contrasted with the pink & white oriental-ish rug (ON CLEARANCE NOW!) underneath. My coffee table (obsessed with marble) is no longer available from target, but I’ve linked a similar one HERE. The tray & planter are from T.J.Maxx. I’ve added some faux flowers from Michael’s that are easy for switching out for different colors/looks from time to time.
Lastly, the abstract gold lines wall art is from Target!
Kitchen/Vanity Area
Because I love make-up (and consider myself kind of basic haha) I have the infamous “Alex Drawers” from IKEA! They are so practical, but man are they heavy!! I had to enlist the help of my girl friend – bless you, Chloe – to help me move them while my boyfriend was at work over the weekend. The top (“Linnmon”) is removable & also from IKEA.
Of course, my mirrors and lamp are from T.J.Maxx. I like the look of leaning a larger mirror against the wall as opposed to mounting it – my mom inspired me with the idea! The desk chair is another fun Target find.
My kitchen is nothing special, but I do love my white keurig. I am a coffee fanatic. The white piece of art above the sink is old & from T.J.Maxx, but I’ve actually seen it there recently! The kitchen mat is from (you guessed it) target. The letter board can be found pretty much anywhere & I linked a similar one here.
Bathroom
I decided on a new color scheme for my bathroom when I moved, and grey & white felt both calm & easy! The three circle artwork is by the brand Marmont Hill & I found it on Walmart’s website here. The little basket is from T.J.Maxx & I think it is the perfect way to organize feminine products, a candle, room fragrance spray, or anything else that you want to be easy-to-reach. Lastly, the soap dispenser and matching toothbrush holder are basic ones from IKEA. I decided on the wood look because it would go with just about any color palette!
Bedroom
And last, but not least, my bedroom! I love how comfy-cozy it looks. The two cactus prints on the wall above my bed come as a set from Target and are very reasonably priced. I feel like I’ve seen them all over Instagram. I got my comforter on Amazon prime day! It is still less than $30 & you can get it here. Unfortunately, all of my pillows & sheets are from T.J.Maxx, but their selection is so great, so I highly recommend stopping in & shopping there!
My night stand & lamp & basket are from there as well. Inside the basket, I keep some books that I have yet to read! If anyone has any thriller recommendations, please let me know & comment below.
I set up my “Malm” six-drawer dresser from IKEA on Sunday, and I’m pretty proud of myself for doing it entirely alone. I keep a gold jewelry stand on top & the painting (which is sadly sold out) can be found at this link.
You all have no idea how excited I was about the fact that I have two closets now! I put a full-length mirror (for outfit pics, duh) between them with two of those gold urchins above.
Alright, that’s it! I hope you all have enjoyed this little tour & thank you SO MUCH for reading. Stay tuned for more posts in the future! I plan to do at least one per week.
Hello, everyone! Today I am going to be sharing my current J.Crew Factory favorites for late summer (I cannot believe it is already August)…
You may or may not know this, but I am a part-time employee at a J.Crew Factory. I work every weekend during the summer & every other weekend while I am in school. Because I am an employee, I get sneak-peeks at our new arrivals, but I also get an AMAZING discount (our stuff is already discounted anyway too💁🏽♀️). I even get a discount at Madewell, which is a J.Crew brand and my absolute favorite store of all time! Anyway, I love working at J.Crew Factory because all of my co-workers are amazing, the company treats its employees well, and I’m a big fan of the clothing! I love sharing my favorites from each new line. But I am picky, so I’ll only show you the ones that I picked up myself. All items will be linked below.
Line break
First of all, I am obsessing over yellow right now. Which is weird because it is definitely not usually my first choice. Black & white & neutrals are my go-to’s. This “Eyelet Peplum Top” comes in three colors: yellow (“bronzed topaz”), black, and white. I grabbed it in the yellow color, but I’ll be getting it in black as well! The black would be perfect with dark jeans for transitioning from day to night/dinner (just add a pair of nice earrings)! It cinches at the waist & has eyelet detailing.
This top runs TTS. I grabbed a size 0, which is my typical size at J.Crew Factory. It is currently $48.50 (30% off) & make sure you ask for that 15% off student discount (if you are one) at the register! Or you can shop it online here: Eyelet Peplum Top
Next, I picked out this black “Crossbody Bucket Bag.” I am all about practicality, & I enjoy being on the go, so I typically gravitate towards crossbody bags. This one comes in 4 colors: red currant (maroon), camel, black, & cloudless sky (light blue). It’s extremely roomy for a crossbody, and I love that I can tighten the top with the draw strings!
This bag was originally $68, but the red, camel, & black are all $40.50. The blue is on clearance at $59.99 with an additional 20% off if you spend $100 or an additional 30% off if you spend $125 with the code “GETMORE.”
So, if you’ve been following me on Instagram or know me in real life, you know I’ve been all about the leopard print trend recently. And we just got these adorable spotted sleep shorts in! Whenever we get a new shipment of this pattern they immediately fly off of the display table. No joke, I had to text multiple co-workers & get one of them to grab me a pair from another store in Nashville.
They’re only $12. I sized up to a size small because they will shrink a little in the wash (entirely cotton). You can shop them here: Sleep Short
Last, I purchased this eyelet tee! I am not sure why I have been loving eyelet detailing so much lately😂 I think this lilac color (called “Iced Orchid”) is so perfect for summer – but it also comes in black & white.
Super comfy & runs TTS. I purchased it in a size X-Small. It’s currently $18, which is 60% off! Some of the larger sizes are already sold out, so I’d snag it quick! Here is the link: T-Shirt with Eyelet Hem
If you read my whole post, THANK YOU. I am new to this blogging thing & still learning, so I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate the support!
[FYI: I receive a small (very small) commission if you shop through any of the above links]
